Awakening Hopeairplane - Teams

If you've got a heart to serve and love children,
a love for Christ and a current passport, we invite you to join us on one of our upcoming teams.

Since 1994 nearly 500 people have joined us for
a life changing, cross-cultural adventure. More than 12,000 orphan children have experienced first hand, the love of a Heavenly Father demonstrated through loving individuals like you!

What do team members do?
Each team member has a small group of children for the entire trip allowing for relationship and trust to be established. Through skits, songs, lessons, crafts and sports coupled with lots of love and hugs, you can share Christ's message of hope and a future to a child who may have neither.

Maybe you've got a special skill that you can offer as well.The need for medical care, teaching, life skills training and building projects are essential. Let us know if you have specific talents and abilities and we will find a perfect place for you to serve.

Children's VBS and Teaching Team:
Teams will be hosting VBS style kids clubs in several locations including three orphanages and several churches in Kakata.  Leadership training and development for Christian Children's workers will be provided.

How do I become a team member?

  1. We recommend that you look over the Trip Covenant document, as a first step in order to understand the expectations for team members.
  2. Remember! You need to have a current passport.
  3. Next, you need to fill out a Team Application. It is an interactive electronic form and can be sent back to us by pressing the submit button and you can also print off a copy for your own records.
  4. Each team member must raise support for the trip so we have included a Sample Support Letter that you can customize to send out to your friends and family. You will find that many people will be willing to help you accomplish your mission.
  5. Then in preparation for travel we will need a General Liability Waiver which is also an electronic document that can be submitted on line. We also recommend that you keep a copy for your records.
  6. Lastly, the Trip Packing List will help you gather everything you need for the trip.
